Hall of Famer Dwight Freeney is guest speaker for Detroit High School Sports Awards
The 2024-25 Detroit High School Sports Awards are proud to announce Pro Football Hall of Famer Dwight Freeney as the guest speaker for its live show on Friday, June 20 at The Fillmore Detroit. The show is produced with the support of Gift of Life Michigan.
Freeney played in 16 NFL seasons, including 11 with the Indianapolis Colts, winning the Super Bowl with them in 2006.
His final season was in 2017, and he finished with the Detroit Lions, playing in five games.
Freeney also played with the Chargers, Cardinals, Seahawks and Falcons. In his career, he tallied 332 tackles and 125.5 sacks while forcing 47 fumbles. He played in three Super Bowls.
The 2024-25 Detroit High School Sports Awards are part of the USA TODAY High School Sports Awards program. Tickets for the event are FREE this year, thanks to Gift of Life Michigan, and can be obtained here.
