The Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers will begin the 2025 NBA Finals on Thursday night in Game 1 from Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City enters the NBA Finals amid a historic season that has seen them dominate their way to their first Finals appearance since 2012.

Indiana has also dominated tier way through the postseason to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000.

Of course, the NBA Finals features a great battle between two of the best point guards in the NBA in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Tyrese Haliburton, but the two teams will also need some of their other key players to step up in the series to help them win a title.

For the Thunder, they have one of the deepest benches in the NBA and Alex Caruso has been a key player for the off the bench.

Ahead of Game 1, Caruso’s former teammate LeBron James praised him or his season with the Thunder.

“And then they come off the bench with one of my favorite teammates of all time in Alex Caruso,” James said. “He is the ultimate Swiss Army Knife. We’ve literally seen him guard Giannis (Antetokounmpo), we’ve seen him guard The Joker (Nikola Jokic), we’ve seen him guard Ant (Anthony Edwards) … this whole postseason. And you look at his plus/minus after the game. AC will have five points, three rebounds, two assists and his plus/minus will be a (expletive) plus 17.”

This is high praise from James and Caruso deserves all of it as he is in fact the Thunder’s Swiss Army Knife.

While Caruso does not wow with his stats after the game, he has a major impact on the game that is not seen in the box score.

From diving for loose balls and drawing charges to being able to defend the other team’s best player no matter their size, Caruso has been a great addition to Oklahoma City this season and he has played a key role in why they are in the NBA Finals.
