Auburn Tigers Secure Commitment from Four-Star Safety Chance Gilbert

Auburn has added another key player to its roster, as four-star safety Chance Gilbert has officially committed to the Tigers. This announcement comes on the heels of his official visit to Auburn over the past weekend, where he made the decision to conclude his recruitment process. Gilbert, hailing from Sharpsburg, Georgia, chose Auburn over the Georgia Bulldogs, who had also hosted him for an official visit earlier this month.

Ranked as the 56th overall player and the fourth-best safety in the 247Sports composite rankings, Gilbert stands out as the fourth-highest player from Georgia. His commitment marks Auburn's second of the day, following the earlier pledge from four-star offensive lineman Reed Ramsier.

During his junior year at East Coweta High School, Gilbert showcased his versatility on the field, excelling in various roles. He recorded 53 tackles, made 11 pass breakups, and intercepted three passes, one of which he returned for a touchdown. On the offensive side, he caught 16 passes for 393 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for a touchdown on two carries that totaled 71 yards. Additionally, he averaged an impressive 33.7 yards on kickoff returns, including one touchdown return.

With Gilbert's commitment, Auburn has now secured 16 players for its 2027 recruiting class. The Tigers have been particularly successful in recent weeks, having landed 12 commitments since May, and currently hold the 15th spot nationally and fifth in the SEC according to 247Sports.

This strategic recruitment effort by Auburn reflects their strong start to the official visit season, positioning them well for future success.
