Bayern Munich Eyes Liverpool Starlet Rio Ngumoha in Surprise Transfer Interest

Bayern Munich is reportedly contemplating a surprising bid for Liverpool's young talent, Rio Ngumoha, as they seek new attacking options for the upcoming season, according to The Athletic.

While no official approach has been made to Liverpool yet, Ngumoha is aware of Bayern's interest in securing his services for the Allianz Arena. The 18-year-old has emerged as a key player for Liverpool, competing for a starting spot alongside Cody Gakpo on the left wing.

Liverpool is resolute in their intention to retain Ngumoha, regarding him as an integral part of their future plans. The England youth international signed his first professional contract just last September, committing to the club until 2028.

Over the past year, Ngumoha has made significant strides, featuring in 29 matches in the 2025/26 season, scoring twice and providing one assist, all while gaining invaluable first-team experience. Currently, he is training with England's senior squad in Florida in preparation for the upcoming World Cup, although he will not be participating in the tournament.

His rapid development was a pivotal reason for Liverpool's decision against seeking a direct replacement after Luis Diaz's transfer to Bayern last summer. The club is now looking to enhance its attacking options, with RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande being considered as a potential addition, amid competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the talented Ivory Coast international.
