Celik Declines Galatasaray Offer, Commits to Gasperini and Roma

Roma is actively engaged in contract negotiations under the guidance of manager Gian Piero Gasperini, aiming to extend the deals of several players whose contracts are nearing expiration. While Stephan El Shaarawy has opted for a new opportunity elsewhere and discussions regarding Lorenzo Pellegrini's contract remain unresolved, it appears that Zeki Celik and Paulo Dybala are likely to continue their tenure in the capital.

Negotiations for Dybala are progressing, with an expected settlement around €2.5 million, though some details still require finalization. In contrast, Celik's talks are currently stalled due to a discrepancy of approximately €500,000 between the player’s demands and the club’s offer. He is currently earning €2 million net and is aiming for a salary of €3 million.

According to Il Corriere della Sera, Celik's representatives did not propose the €4 million that might have facilitated a swift agreement. The full-back, born in 1997, remains a key asset for Gasperini, who personally requested the contract extension. Celik's versatility on the field further enhances his value to the team, and he still benefits from the growth decree, which has favorable tax implications.

Recently, Celik turned down a contract proposal from Galatasaray, reinforcing his commitment to Gasperini and Roma. The player has assured the coach that he will wait for Roma to finalize their offer, demonstrating his loyalty to the club.
