Charges Against Falcons Rookie Zachariah Branch Dropped, Attorney Confirms

The legal troubles for Zachariah Branch, a rookie wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons and former star at the University of Georgia, have come to an end as his attorney announced that all charges against him have been dismissed. Kim Stephens, Branch's attorney, shared the news in a statement to ESPN, noting that state prosecutors evaluated the evidence before making their decision.

According to Stephens, “Zachariah cooperated fully with law enforcement and did not commit a crime on the night of his arrest and never should have been arrested.” She expressed relief that Branch's reputation has been restored following the resolution of this matter.

The 22-year-old Branch was taken into custody in April shortly after UGA's G-Day spring game. Authorities in Athens-Clarke County claimed he failed to disperse when instructed as local venues closed for the night, leading to charges of obstruction and blocking a public sidewalk.

Just days after his arrest, Branch was selected by the Falcons in the third round of the NFL Draft, highlighting his potential despite the incident.
