Dan Campbell Commends Luke Altmyer During Lions OTAs

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell expressed admiration for former Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer during the team's recent OTAs. In an article featured by the Detroit Free Press, Campbell highlighted Altmyer's progress and confidence as he adapts to the professional level.

“He doesn’t lack confidence, for sure,” Campbell remarked. He noted that Altmyer is meeting expectations, stating, “What we thought he would be at this point, I would say it’s kind of held true.” The coach praised Altmyer’s ability to absorb the playbook, emphasizing his improvement in processing information on the field.

Campbell continued, noting that Altmyer is managing a significant amount of responsibility: “He’s got a lot on his plate, but he knows what the calls are, he knows where guys are supposed to be, the shifts, the motions.” He concluded by stating, “For a young guy, that’s really good. So, we’ll see when it really gets going.”

Altmyer, a promising talent from Illinois, is working hard to establish himself in the competitive environment of the NFL.
