The Miami Dolphins are coming out of the 2026 NFL Draft with a few big additions to both sides of the ball. But, there is still a question mark in the wide receiver room.

Even with their current options, the Dolphins could still use a veteran to lead the room. And San Francisco 49ers free agent Jauan Jennings would be a reasonable target for the Dolphins.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports the Dolphins have had interest in Jennings this offseason, but there is some bad news on their odds to land the free agent for one key reason: contract demand.

"In fact, according to a source, the Dolphins - since the start of free agency - have shown interest in 49ers free agent receiver Jauan Jennings," Jackson reports. "But they don't have the money to meet his contractual wishes, and Sullivan has said Miami isn't going to spend big in free agency after June 1."

The Dolphins could use a receiver like Jennings, who is 6-foot-3, and has shown high-profile receiving ability for the 49ers the last few years.

He caught 55 passes for 643 yards and nine touchdowns this past season for the 49ers, and he caught 77 passes for 975 yards and six touchdowns the year prior.

While the Dolphins have interest in Jennings in free agency, the former 49ers WR does not have a contract demand that will meet what the Dolphins are willing to pay.

This is some bad news for Miami, as Jennings was likely the best WR they could add. Stefon Diggs, Deebo Samuel, Brandin Cooks, and a lot of other veterans could come to Miami as some extra WR depth.

But, with a crowded roster of mid-tier WRs and rookies, the Dolphins might be better off passing on all free agent receivers and sticking with their current options with the hope that one turns into a star in 2026, unless Jennings lowers his asking price.
