Egyptian National Team to Offer Exclusive Training Session for Fans in Spokane Ahead of World Cup

Excitement is building in the Inland Northwest as soccer enthusiasts prepare for a special event featuring the Egyptian national team, including star player Mohamed Salah, ahead of the 2026 World Cup. On June 10, the team will hold an open training session at Luger Field, located on the Gonzaga University campus, starting at noon.

This training session comes just five days before Egypt's first game in the World Cup on June 15 in Seattle. Due to FIFA regulations, attendance will be limited, and tickets will be allocated through a random lottery system. Interested fans can apply for tickets at this link. Each individual can request up to two tickets, with further details on entry, parking, and event guidelines provided to successful applicants.

Spokane will serve as the home base for the Egyptian national team during the tournament, with the players staying at Northern Quest Resort and Casino and training at Gonzaga. "We are thrilled to welcome the Spokane community to Gonzaga University for this special opportunity to see the Egypt National Team prepare for the world stage," said Gonzaga President Katia Passerini. She emphasized that hosting the team is an incredible honor for both the university and the city.

This marks Egypt's fourth qualification for the World Cup, although the team has not yet progressed beyond the group stages. Mayor Lisa Brown expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "We are eagerly awaiting the Pharaohs' arrival and are excited for Spokane to experience this once-in-a-generation moment."

The 2026 World Cup will feature 104 matches across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, beginning on June 11, with the championship match scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Seattle is set to host six matches, while Vancouver, British Columbia, will host seven.
