Fernando Alonso Dazzles in Monaco with Exclusive Porsche 918 Spyder
Fernando Alonso has once again captured the spotlight in Monaco, showcasing a stunning vehicle from his impressive car collection. The two-time Formula 1 champion was seen navigating the streets of Monte Carlo in a rare Porsche 918 Spyder.
Launched in 2013, the 918 Spyder is a mid-engine plug-in hybrid that boasts a remarkable 4.6-liter V8 engine, generating 599 horsepower, complemented by dual electric motors that contribute an additional 282 horsepower. With only 918 units produced, this car was also the first production vehicle to complete a lap around the Nürburgring in under seven minutes. Current valuations for this extraordinary machine range between €1.8 million and €3 million.
Social media users expressed their admiration, with one fan remarking, “This guy has the Gran Turismo garage in Monaco.” Another enthusiast stated, “I wish for all car enthusiasts to be able to afford a 918—the rest is trivial!” Comments continued to pour in, with another admirer exclaiming, “That car is something... love it!”
The 918 Spyder is just one highlight in Alonso's remarkable automotive fleet, which reportedly includes other icons such as the McLaren P1, LaFerrari, a unique Pagani Zonda 760, and a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Strassenversion. Additionally, the Aston Martin driver has several models from the British brand, including a customized Valkyrie and a DBX 707.
Alonso's appearance comes as the Monaco Grand Prix approaches, with preparations evident around the principality. Notably, the driver has faced challenges this season, currently standing at 22nd in the drivers' championship without any points, just behind teammate Lance Stroll. The Monaco Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from June 5-7.
