“Gaslighting Trick”: Fans Make Feelings Clear as Abdul Carter Patches Up With Jaxson Dart After Donald Trump Fiasco
New York Giants linebacker Abdul Carter is trying to clear things up between him and his teammate, quarterback Jaxson Dart, after they clashed over their political views. On Saturday, May 23, Carter took to his X/Twitter to publicly let the football world know that he and Dart have already spoken and have patched things up over their recent political misalignment.
Carter was speaking about his recent repost on X/Twitter where he called out Dart for introducing President Donald Trump during a campaign rally for Rep. Mike Lawler in Suffern, New York, a day earlier. The 23-year-old was not particularly keen on Dart being in the event with Trump, as he questioned his teammate’s decision and even thought that the video he reposted was AI.
NFL fans and spectators criticize Carter for publicly calling out Dart instead of keeping their discussions private.
“Oh, trying the gaslighting trick I see! You were the one posting that no way could Jason introduce the President thinking that EVERYONE would agree with you. Apparently, you missed the election where Trump won both electoral and popular vote,” one fan explained.
“You forgot to speak as men before running to social media,” another fan pointed out.
“Man, you’re the one who started the narratives,” another user said with a photo.
“What narrative? You said some dumb sh*t when you shouldn’t have,” a fan shared.
Other users all over X/Twitter call out Carter for being hypocritical as his take on Dart may have surfaced some of his past issues.
“I notice you didn’t call out your idol LT for supporting Trump. Wonder why that is,” one user questioned.
“Cool, now call Lawrence Taylor and apologize for asking to wear his #56 then producing 4 sacks in 17 games,” another user wrote.
“Aren’t you glad your teammate took the high road and didn’t call you out publicly. Feels kind of nice not to have a teammate judge you by your political beliefs doesn’t it,” a user posted.
Since then, Dart has yet to publicly respond to Carter. But Carter’s recent post suggests that they have already cleared the air, and Dart may no longer give a statement out to give a rest to the matter. Still, it remains to be seen if this recent call out by Carter will affect the Giants’ morale as the offseason continues for the NFL.
Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart are both from the 2025 NFL Draft class
Perhaps newly minted coach John Harbaugh and his coaching staff would want to dismiss the Abdul Carter-Jaxson Dart situation as early as possible. This has the potential to be done, given that Carter and Dart have been together since the start of their NFL careers. They were both selected in the 2025 NFL Draft by the New York Giants, with Carter being the third overall pick while Dart was taken 25th overall.
