Guillermo Almada Takes the Helm as Coach of Club América
The wait is finally over as Club América has officially appointed Guillermo Almada as their new head coach, marking the beginning of a fresh chapter for the team following the exit of André Jardine.
In a statement released by the club, they expressed their excitement about Almada's arrival, stating, "Club América announces the arrival of Guillermo Almada as Head Coach of the Águilas... the arrival of a strategist with proven ability and prestige is a source of great joy. We are convinced that, under his leadership, this stage for the Águilas will live up to the Club’s high standards and those of our great and beloved fans."
América also noted that the Uruguayan coach is expected to meet with players and management at their training facility, the Nido, in the coming days as they gear up for the Apertura 2026 season.
