Highlights from the 2026 AveryStrong Showcase at University of Puget Sound
The AveryStrong Showcase made its much-anticipated return to Washington State on Sunday, taking place at the University of Puget Sound. This year's event attracted head coaches from various institutions, including Jedd Fisch of Washington, Thomas Ford of Idaho, and Chris Fisk from Portland State, alongside Jeff Thomas, the head coach at the host school.
More than 600 athletes from the 2027 to 2030 graduating classes participated in the fourth annual showcase held in Tacoma. Coaches and staff members took the opportunity to recognize standout players across multiple sessions, naming the top performers in each category.
In Session One, the Overall MVP was awarded to Caleb Camping, a 2027 player from Fort Collins, Colorado, representing Fossil Ridge. Other notable mentions included Trevon Mayfield (2028, Graham, WA) and LJ Pierce (2028, Temecula, CA) as top running backs, while Mason Emil (2027, Des Moines, WA) and Gus Bailey (2027, Sacramento, CA) were highlighted as the top tight ends.
Session Two crowned Malik Burns (2027, Graham, WA) as the Overall MVP, with Sione Kaho (2027, Tacoma, WA) earning the quarterback MVP distinction. Meanwhile, the wide receiver honors went to Jasiah Agnimel (2027, Lake Oswego, OR), and the defensive back category was topped by Jordan Noel (2027, Burien, WA) and Preston Lagat (2027, Graham, WA).
In Session Three, offensive lineman Rashaun Lavata’i (2027, University Place, WA) was named Overall MVP. Additional standout performances came from Shyzen Akiona (2029, Kapolei, HI) and Ofa Taufalele (2028, Tacoma, WA). The defensive line MVPs included Lennox Chee (2028, Honolulu, HI) and Aedyn Havili (2028, Sammamish, WA).
Finally, Session Four recognized Troy Bishop (2028, Santa Ana, CA) as the Overall MVP. AJ Tuivaiave (2028, Graham, WA) and Jadis Lefono (2029, Lakewood, WA) were awarded quarterback MVPs, while Aaden Brady (2028, Palos Verdes, CA) stood out as a wide receiver. The session also honored defensive backs Marquis Tovia (2029, Seattle, WA) and Dezmond Sanders (2028, Pittsburg, CA) for their exceptional performances.
