Joe Rogan pours cold water over UFC White House event: ‘The (whole) thing is odd’

The upcoming UFC event at the White House may sound like dream-event, but Joe Rogan isn’t buying it.

On Wednesday’s episode of his popular podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan poured cold water over the whole event, saying he believes the whole “thing is odd.”

Washington, D.C. in June is no joke. Rogan’s team looked it up and found the same date last year reached a punishing 100 degrees.

Add the heat from searing production lights needed to broadcast a world-class fight, and fighters step into a cage that feels closer to a sauna than a sporting arena.

Rogan goes further, pointing out that those massive production lights will attract every bug in the area.

“What are you gonna do? Like, how are you gonna stop the bugs?” Rogan asked in a clip shared on X/Twitter.

He argues that championship fights should protect athletes and the integrity of the sport by eliminating avoidable variables — especially weather — because fighters spend their entire careers controlling every aspect of preparation for that moment.

“I just don’t think that you should compete in a world championship fight in a non controlled environment,” Rogan said.

Rogan’s pointing out that a championship bout should be decided by skill, not by who handled the heat better or who got a bug in their eye at the wrong moment.
