Joe Schoen’s QB Son Sends Six-Word Message to his Dad After Giants Renew Contract
The New York Giants are keeping general manager Joe Schoen for the foreseeable future. The two parties agreed to a contract extension. This news feels refreshing given the turbulent stretch inside the organization.
In the wake of this announcement on Thursday, Schoen’s quarterback son from the 2028 recruiting class, Carson Schoen, shared his outlook on the extension. He feels excited and believes the Super Bowl is not far away.
“Proud of you dad!! Ring chasing 💍” he wrote on X.
Schoen joined the Giants in 2022. He previously served as assistant GM for the Buffalo Bills. After making the playoffs in 2022, the Giants have struggled, compiling a 22-45-1 record across four seasons. In 2025, they finished disappointingly (4-13). Despite the evident struggles, the front office seems to be confident that Schoen can get the Giants back on track.
What is Joe Schoen’s QB Son Carson Doing?
Joe Schoen’s son, Carson, is a high school quarterback in the Northeast. He plays quarterback at Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey and is part of the Class of 2028 recruiting cycle.
He is listed at around 6-foot-1 and 190–195 pounds, and has already been offered by multiple Division I schools, including Syracuse, UConn, Temple, Coastal Carolina, Colorado State, and Rhode Island.
Carson wants to play for Notre Dame, though. In order to achieve, he is ready to start at a smaller school and build himself good enough for the Fighting Irish. He has also attended camps and visits tied to the program.
“That’s the dream,” Schoen told Irish Sports Daily. “Regardless if I’m starting off at a smaller school. Obviously I have a lot of options right now at the smaller schools to go there and play. But at the end, I want to end up at Notre Dame. You can’t beat it there.
“So if it’s starting somewhere like Rhode Island, a great CAA school, getting the film and then transferring up, whatever it is. At the end of the day, that’s all I can do.”
Carson gained national attention during HBO’s Hard Knocks appearances. He was quite visible alongside his father during the Giants’ behind-the-scenes draft process, where his candid football takes sparked plenty of online conversation. Even Joe had once told how Carson would drive football conversations at home as well.
