Justin Allgaier Triumphs Over Brent Crews in Thrilling Nashville Showdown
Rookie Brent Crews will have to postpone his quest for a first victory in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series as he faced off against seasoned driver Justin Allgaier in Nashville. Allgaier, a former series champion, seized the lead with just 15 laps remaining, ultimately securing his 32nd career win and fourth of the 2026 season. After the race, he paid tribute to Kyle Busch, bowing in recognition of the challenges faced by Busch and his family.
"First of all, it's been a rough couple of weeks," Allgaier reflected. "Thoughts and prayers to Samantha, Kyle, Brexton and Lennix. I wish my wife and kids and my mom and dad were here to celebrate. But this team right here is incredible … This place is electric. I love coming to Nashville."
Allgaier acknowledged the difficulties he encountered during the race but credited his crew chief, Andrew Overstreet, for making the adjustments necessary to regain his competitive edge. He closed out the race ahead of Crews, who took second place, while William Sawalich finished third, followed by Sam Mayer in fourth and Brandon Jones in fifth. The remainder of the top ten included Corey Day, Carson Kvapil, Kyle Larson, Taylor Gray, and Sammy Smith.
Stage one of the race saw Love dominate from the pole position, building a lead of over six seconds before encountering his teammate Cleetus McFarland. Rather than lapping him, Love opted to stay behind, but after McFarland spun out, Love continued on to win the stage, finishing ahead of Day, Allgaier, Hill, and Larson.
During the second stage, Allgaier wrestled the lead from Love, leading to a fierce exchange for the top position. In a dramatic final lap, Allgaier narrowly edged out Love to win the stage. In stage three, Allgaier fell back due to a slow pit stop but quickly fought his way back into contention. After a fierce battle with Crews, he ultimately pulled ahead and maintained his lead to claim victory.
The O'Reilly Series will now take a break before returning to competition at Pocono Raceway on June 13.
