Larry Fitzgerald Sr. had a remarkable career in journalism, dedicating nearly fifty years to covering sports in Minnesota. His contributions to the field were widely recognized, with the Minnesota Vikings also issuing a statement honoring his legacy.

Fitzgerald Sr. was able to witness his son achieve one of football's highest honors when Larry Fitzgerald Jr. was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in February, although he did not live to see the enshrinement ceremony in August. For many years, he was a familiar face in the press box at State Farm Stadium, where he enjoyed watching his son's games.
