Layne Riggs won the time-constrained NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, after three postponements due to rain pushed the Friday night event to Sunday morning.

This is Riggs' seventh career win and his second of the 2026 season, driving the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Kaden Honeycutt finished second, Connor Zilisch third, Ben Rhodes fourth, and Gio Ruggiero fifth. Christian Eckes, Brandon Jones, Taylor Gray, Ricky Stenhous Jr., and William Sawalich filled out the reaminder of the top ten.

The entire team bowed in honor of fallen NASCAR legend Kyle Busch, who always bowed to the crowd after his many wins. Riggs did the same after climbing from the truck, tears in in his eyes.

"Just our hearts are really heavy this weekend, kind of struggling with it a little bit," said Riggs. "Great job to everybody at Front Row Motorsports, thanks so much to my teammate Chandler Smith. He stuck with me on that restart there."

Despite not even reaching the full distance, eleven cautions in Sunday's Truck race was a record for the series at Charlotte.

Stage 1

The race got off to a hectic start early Sunday morning. Day was leading the race from pole, driving the truck meant for Busch. Day ended up slipping up the track and Honeycutt had to lift, allowing Riggs to slip into the lead.

Luke Baldwin had to pit after getting into the wall, but the first caution was for Van Gisbergen, who spun sideways.

Day was falling back mightily, struggling with the handling as the battle for the lead continues to be intense. Eckes muscled his way into the lead after contact with Riggs, and the next caution flew for Ty Majeski limping around on the apron of the track. Cole Butcher also needed a push back to the pits due to fuel pressure issues.

During the yellow, a large chunk of the field pitted with plans to flip the stage. In a mad-dash to the green-and-white checkered, Eckes won over B. Jones, Riggs, Enfinger, Honeycutt, Sawalich, Day, Stenhouse, Garcia, Ruggerio.

Eckes continues to lead into Stage 2, and the next caution was for Luke Baldwin, whose truck went up in flames. He drove it over to the wet grass to help smother the flames.

Riggs fought his way back to the lead, but a terrifying crash soon followed. Driving the truck meant for Busch this weekend, Day spun off the nose of Ruggiero and went airborne.

Thankfully, it sat back down before reaching the wall, but he still crashed heavily, ending his day.

Riggs went on to win the stage over Eckes, Chastain, Hemric, B. Jones, Honeycutt, Friesen, Rhodes, Garcia, and Ankrum.

Stage 3

Around nine trucks stayed out, and on the restart, Saturday's NASCAR O'Reilly race winner Chastain got pushed onto the apron in the ensuing chaos.

A spinner at the back came at the perfect moment for Chastain, who cut a tire down and needed to pit to repair fender damage. However, the incident sent him back outside the top 30.

As the race got back rolling, Ruggiero was leading Eckes at the front of the field.

Yet another caution flew about 35mins from the cutoff for this race due to time constraints as Leland Honeyman spun and hit the wall.

Most of the field pitted, but not everyone. Ankum now led over Sutton as the clock ticked away in what essentially became a timed race.

The cautions worked out well for Chastain, who was suddenly back inside the top five. On the restart, he charged up to second with Riggs taking the lead. Eckes passed Chastain for second soon after.

Zilisch got a pass-through for a restart violation, derailing his top ten run. The next caution was for Brenden Queen and Kris Wright colliding on the frontstretch, getting pinned against the wall. Wright moved up the track into Queen thinking he was clear, but he was not.

The race resumed with just 15 minutes left on the clock. Eckes powered into the lead, but the battle was far from over.

Friesen spun through the field, but the race remained green. But when Andres Perez spun soon after, that did force a caution with eleven minutes to go.

The race resumed with five minutes on the clock. Chandler Smith crashed battling Zilisch for third and slammed the wall, triggering another yellow. Chastain then stalled on track and needed a push back to the pits.

The race never resumed, and Riggs was declared the race winner under caution.
