Michigan Gains Ground in Pursuit of Four-Star OL Lincoln Mageo

The Washington Huskies are actively competing for some of the finest offensive linemen in the West for the 2027 recruiting class. A key target for offensive line coach Michael Switzer is four-star prospect Lincoln Mageo, who ranks as the No. 360 player nationally and the No. 17 interior offensive lineman according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. However, recent developments suggest that securing Mageo's commitment may become more challenging.

On Tuesday, Ethan McDowell from Rivals made a crystal ball prediction indicating that Mageo is likely to choose the Michigan Wolverines when he announces his decision on July 11. The talented lineman is considering a group of seven schools, which includes Arizona, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, UCLA, Utah, and Washington. He has already visited Arizona and Utah officially, with upcoming trips planned to Michigan on June 5 and Texas on June 12, before wrapping up with an official visit to Washington on June 19.

As the Huskies aim to enhance their offensive line depth, Mageo fits well within the offensive strategy developed by coaches Jedd Fisch and Michael Switzer. An evaluation from Huskies Wire's Alex Katson highlighted Mageo's agility for his 280-pound size, noting, "He moves well for his 280-pound frame and consistently executes combo blocks and makes contact with second-level defenders from either spot." Furthermore, Katson praised Mageo's ability to seek out additional blocks on the field, stating, "Down the field, Mageo continues to look for work, often sealing off defenders, then turning to remove another player from the play rather than staying latched to his man longer than necessary."

During his official visit, Mageo will be accompanied by five other offensive linemen, including four-star recruits Gecova Doyal and DaJohn Yarborough, as well as three-star prospects Reis Russell, Tristan Dare, and Tye Kennedy, who is currently Washington's only commitment at the position.
