Utah Secures Third Commitment of the Day with WR Dillon Sykes

The University of Utah has made a significant addition to its football program, securing the commitment of three-star wide receiver Dillon Sykes on Monday afternoon. This brings the total number of commitments for the day to three, following earlier agreements with linebacker Aiden Martin and tight end Braxton Daniel.

Standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 190 pounds, Sykes is the first wide receiver to join Utah's recruiting class for 2027. During his junior year at Rancho Cucamonga High School in California, he recorded 25 catches for 281 yards and scored five touchdowns in just eight games, according to his statistics on MaxPreps.

In addition to Utah, Sykes had offers from several notable programs, including Purdue and Arizona, as well as Ivy League institutions such as Dartmouth, Harvard, and Penn. He boasts an impressive 4.0 GPA, showcasing his academic prowess alongside his athletic talent.

Ranked as the 170th wide receiver nationally by Rivals, Sykes holds an 86 rating. His commitment adds to the growing momentum for Utah's recruiting efforts, which have seen eight players commit recently. Sykes joins a talented group that features linebacker Aiden Martin, tight end Braxton Daniel, running back Jonah Mailei, offensive linemen Sire Stewart and Damian Anyasodo, defensive lineman Tiki Teeples, and edge rusher Jack Henderson, all rated three stars by recruiting analysts.
