Virginia Tech Secures Commitment from Four-Star OT Junior Saunders

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - In a significant boost for their recruiting efforts, the Virginia Tech Hokies welcomed four-star offensive tackle Junior Saunders to their roster. The 6-foot-6, 270-pound athlete hails from Woodberry Forest School in Madison County, Virginia, and made his decision known following a successful weekend of commitments for the team.

On a day that began with the Hokies landing four-star wide receiver Cam Wade and cornerback Bryce Woods, head coach James Franklin continued to build momentum by securing Saunders' commitment later in the evening. The talented prospect chose Virginia Tech over offers from notable programs such as Virginia, North Carolina State, Tennessee, and South Carolina, having received over 20 scholarship offers in total.

Currently ranked as the No. 6 player in Virginia for the class of 2027 and the No. 32 offensive tackle nationwide by 247Sports, Saunders expressed his enthusiasm about joining the Hokies, stating, “It was everything. Family bond, I think talking to Coach Franklin was really key. It just felt like home.” His decision is further solidified by his strong rapport with offensive line coach Matt Moore, who he believes will play a vital role in his development.

With Saunders' commitment, Virginia Tech continues to strengthen its offensive line, following the addition of four-star interior lineman Kaden Buchanan and three-star tackles Luke Braham and Dylan Latell. This latest signing has propelled the Hokies to the No. 6 position in the national 2027 team recruiting rankings by 247Sports. As the program looks to enhance its roster further, excitement builds around Saunders' arrival in Blacksburg.
