The 2026 WNBA season kicks off Friday, and all eyes will be on Toronto as the Tempo host the Mystics for the franchise debut.

The Tempo will be hitting the court for the first time ever after joining the W as an expansion team this year. Luckily, the Tempo are being led by a very accomplished head coach in Sandy Brondello, and the team will be in front of a home audience to get things started.

Meanwhile, the Mystics completed a total overhaul in the offseason, and are now a younger squad entirely. Rookie Lauren Betts will be bringing her talents to the court, fresh off a national championship with UCLA just last month. Georgia Amoore will also be back in play after sitting out most of her rookie season with injuries.
