4 Steelers on the roster bubble we are rooting for to make the team
In a month, the Pittsburgh Steelers will kick off training camp and the race to make the 53-man roster begins. For the most part, the Steelers roster is locked in but there are several spots on the depth chart where guys are going to work to either make the roster or impress enough to make another roster. For the Steelers, here are the five guys we are rooting for to make the team that are squarely on the roster bubble right now.
WR Ben Skowronek
Offensive coordinator Arthur Smith wants to run the football and run it a lot. We hope this gives Skowronek a big leg up over the other guys are the bottom of the depth chart. Skownorek is a punishing run blocker and special teams ace and we love his style of play.
S Sebastian Castro
Castro joined the Steelers as a rookie undrafted free agent and the odds are long that he makes the team. But Castro is a Steelers through and through and could be a vital building piece for the future of this secondary.
DT Dominique Davis
I want to be sure the Steelers keep as many big, run stuffing nose tackles as possible and Davis fits the bill. The Steelers run defense got pushed around last season and Davis is one of those low center of gravity guys who is hard to move off his spot.
TE JJ Galbreath
Gallbreath is another undrafted free agent and he's the guy we think will be the fan favorite at training camp. He does a little of everything on the field, much like fellow tight end Connor Heyward
RB Trey Sermon
The rushing offense is going to run through Jaylen Warren, Kaleb Johnson and Kenneth Gainwell but we want to see Sermon make the roster for no other reason than it assures that Cordarrelle Patterson doesn't make the team.
