Brother of Penn State Transfer Could Commit to USC Following Visit

The USC Trojans could be claiming a recruiting win soon out of the east coast. This time involving the younger brother of a prized Penn State transfer. Plus New Jersey's top-ranked prospect.
The nation's top-ranked 2026 recruiting class hosted Princeton, New Jersey edge rusher Luke Wafle during the weekend of June 13. He's the brother of incoming Nittany Lions defensive lineman Owen, who transferred out of Michigan and committed to PSU in Jan. 2025.
Penn State is long considered the favorite to land the younger Wafle brother. Tom Loy of 247Sports, however, is urging to pump the brakes there.
"Sure, most expect Princeton (N.J.) Hun Top247 edge rusher Luke Wafle to stay close to home and follow his brother to Penn State. To that, I say, not so fast," Loy began. "USC hosts Wafle this weekend in Los Angeles, and there is real optimism coming from the camp out West that Wafle could eventually be a Trojan."
That becomes another massive DL addition for USC if the Trojans complete the recruiting sell for Wafle. The Trojans already have Simote Katoanga on board, who's a four-star addition. Braden Jones of Chicago is another future edge rusher in the Land of Troy, plus one more four-star for this class.
USC now lurks as the one that could siphon the four-star Wafle. But other power conference schools loom too, per Loy.
"Florida is a threat, Ohio State remains in play and Texas in the hunt," Loy said. "But watch out for USC. The Trojans are being slept on, and this weekend could tip things in their favor."
Wafle holds 30 total offers. Andrew Ivins of 247Sports described Wafle as a "Force-based defensive end that’s a tackle collector on the edge." Wafle even has drawn comparisons to Ohio State national champ Jack Sawyer. Now USC could be swooping him up.
