Cast your vote for the best baseball player in the Cheboygan area during 2025 season

CHEBOYGAN – High school baseball season in the Cheboygan area is officially over.  

With Inland Lakes wrapping up their campaign in the regional semifinals, it concluded another exciting spring on the diamond. As for area players, many of them were outstanding throughout the campaign.

With the season wrapped up, be sure to cast your vote on who you think was the top player in the Cheboygan area this spring. The poll opens on Tuesday morning and closes at 10 p.m. on Thursday.  

Here’s a look at the nominees:

Sean Postula, Cheboygan – Despite not having his best pitching year, Postula still wrapped up a terrific career as one of the most powerful hitters in the area.  

Cash DePauw, Inland Lakes – Returning from a long-term knee injury, DePauw established himself as one of the best pitchers in Northern Michigan.  

Aidan Fenstermaker, Inland Lakes – A powerful bat and a rock-solid catcher, Fenstermaker finished off a successful I-L career in style.  

Ty Kolly, Inland Lakes – Arguably the best infield player in the area, Kolly was also an offensive spark plug as the leadoff hitter for the Bulldogs.  

Braylon Currie, Mackinaw City –Mackinaw City’s ace who nearly reached the school record for wins in a career was exceptional throughout the spring.  

Luke Lovelace, Onaway – The future Alpena Community College player had an elite season as Onaway’s catcher and was an excellent leadoff hitter.  

Andrew Gulley, Onaway – Delivering a breakout season was Gulley, arguably the most powerful hitter in the area. He was also strong defensively at third base.  

Inland Lakes junior pitcher Cash DePauw was among the top Cheboygan-area baseball players during the 2025 season.
