Celta Vigo identify Fer López replacement
The board at La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have earmarked their first-choice replacement for attacker Fer López.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing newspaper La Grada, who point towards Álex Calatrava as the player in the sights of the Celestes.
Calatrava, for his part, is fresh off a standout campaign in Spain’s 2nd tier in 2024/25.
Lining out for Castellón, the 25-year-old lit up the division from his berth on the right flank, racking up six goals and a head-turning 11 assists in 32 appearances.
And such exploits, evidently, did not go unnoticed in La Liga.
As per a report from MD, Calatrava has made his way onto the transfer radar of those in a position of power at Celta Vigo.
On the lookout for a replacement for Fer López, who joined Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this summer, the Balaídos brass have underlined Calatrava’s name in red.
All of Alavés, Mallorca, and Espanyol, though, are also understood to be keeping a close eye on the attacker’s situation at Castellón.
