The Chicago Sky defeated the Connecticut Sun by a score of 78 to 66 on Sunday, giving them a 3-7 record during the 2025 WNBA season. The win also snapped a three-game losing streak for the Sky.

Chicago was down by as much as eight during the Commissioner's Cup contest, but they gave up a season-low 66 points en route to victory against the Sun. 78 points is also the most Chicago has scored since May 31.

2024 WNBA All-Star Angel Reese led the way with 11 points, 11 assists, 13 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. This was the first triple-double of her career and only the second in the WNBA this season (via Yahoo Sports).

While Sunday's performance was arguably the best of Reese's career thus far, rookie guard Hailey Van Lith also scored a career-high in points against the Sun. Van Lith chipped in 16 points on Sunday, as well as a career-best five rebounds.

Sky head coach Tyler Marsh spoke to the media after the win against Connecticut, and he made a statement on Van Lith after her strong performance.

"I think we got a lot of energy from Hailey, we got a lot from an offensive standpoint,” Marsh said. "I think our spacing allowed Hailey to get some downhill looks and opportunities into the paint where she was able to find players and she was able to create shots for herself."

Before Sunday's game, Van Lith had been averaging just 3.7 points and 1.0 rebounds per contest through seven career appearances. Sunday was also her first game scoring in double figures in the WNBA.

The Sky will look to build a winning streak when they take on the 4-7 Washington Mystics on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
