Chiefs TE Travis Kelce responds to recent weight loss rumors: ‘I never said that’

During his minicamp press conference on Wednesday, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce addressed the recent rumors that he dropped 25 pounds before the start of mandatory minicamp.
“First of all, I never said that. Don’t believe all you read on the internet, guys. I never told anybody,” said Kelce, “I’m down some weight from the end of the season. Each year is different, man, and you’ve gotta rebuild it.”
The talk about Kelce’s weight loss began with a report by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. He was allegedly dropping weight ahead of camp and his 13th NFL season.
“This year, I got some time to really focus on some form running and some things early on in the offseason that I just didn’t have time for last year,” said Kelce, “Certainly feeling good, and I think it will pay off.”
Kelce could be in line to add more to his already Hall of Fame-worthy resume this season. He enters the 2025 season behind Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten for third all-time in tight end yards. He is only 896 yards behind Witten for second place.
