Former Naples High football coach Bill Kramer named to another Hall of Fame

Six years after coaching his final football game at Naples High School, Bill Kramer continues to receive accolades.

This time, it's the National High School Athletic Coaches Association honoring the former Golden Eagles coach as part of its Class of 2025 Hall of Fame inductees. Unfortunately, the 61-year-old won't be able to attend the induction ceremony, set for June 24 in Rapid City, S.D., because of a previous commitment.

"It's a huge honor," Kramer said. "First of all, anything like this is a team award. It goes back to the players and the coaching staff; you talk about some highly motivated and competitive men.

"Like I've said before when I got some other awards, I just wish I could break it into enough pieces to give everybody a part of it. Unfortunately, I can't, but in my heart I am."

This will be the third Hall of Fame to induct Kramer, joining the Florida High School Athletic Association and the Florida Athletic Coaches Association.

Kramer spent 22 seasons at Naples High, turning the Golden Eagles into a perennial state championship contender. His teams won 17 district championships, eight regional titles, and a pair of state crowns in 2001 and 2007, both carrying historic implications. The 2001 team captured the first football championship for any Southwest Florida program, while the 2007 squad finished a perfect 15-0 and remains the lone area team to win a state football title with an unblemished record.

In 22 years at Naples, from 1998 through 2019, Kramer went 216-51, an .808 winning percentage. He is the winningest football coach in Collier County history.

Including three seasons at American High School in Hialeah, where Kramer coached before arriving at Naples, his overall record is 234-64.
