Jake Bobo could bring stability to Seahawks offense

The Seattle Seahawks went through sweeping changes at wide receiver this offseason. Disgruntled playmaker DK Metcalf was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers amidst a contract dispute. Franchise legend Tyler Lockett was released from his contract. GM John Schneider replaced them by signing Cooper Kupp following his release from the Los Angeles Rams.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling was also signed in free agency. Tory Horton and Ricky White III were selected during the 2025 NFL draft. With so much uncertainty at wide receiver, the reliable Jake Bobo could play a sizable role in Klint Kubiak's offense.
A third-year UDFA, Bobo feels like a lock to make the 53-man roster. Bobo will enter training camp as the fourth wideout on the depth chart, behind just Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Kupp, and Valdes-Scantling. Horton and White III will take time acclimating to the offense.
“Cooper Kupp is already showing up to the VMAC every single day… He’s grinding like he’s legendary in his work ethic.
There’s other players in the locker room that are following [Kupp’s] lead. One of those guys is Jake Bobo.”

The aging Kupp has a lengthy injury history. It's difficult to predict how MVS will fit into the passing attack. Bobo adds more reliability and predictability to the passing offense. Bobo is also an outstanding blocker on the perimeter, and the Seahawks want to field a run-heavy offense in 2025.
Bobo recorded 13 receptions for 107 yards and one touchdown in 17 regular-season appearances last season. The former Duke and UCLA standout was the fourth-most snapped wideout at 319 snaps (29 percent of the Seahawks' offensive plays). Metcalf and Lockett leave behind more than 1,600 snaps that require replacing.
Expect Bobo to carry a heavier load.
