Joey Chestnut downs 70.5 franks to rule at Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest

Joey Chestnut returned to the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog contest on the Fourth of July. The "Chompion" eater of Franks is the king again, downing 70.5 hot dogs -- no word on what happened to the other half -- to keep the mustard belt. Second place was 46.5, so Chestnut once again had a Secretariat-like victory margin. After a one-year absence, Chestnut proved he is the man when it comes to ruling the hot dog holiday. "It took physically being here," said Chestnut, who was aiming for between 70 and 77. "Sometimes showing up is the hardest part."
On the women's side, Miko Sudo remained unconquered, devouring 33 Nathan's dogs.
