Mark Kaboly confident T.J. Watt, Steelers extension gets done based on past contracts

Everyone has an opinion on the Steelers–T.J. Watt contract drama — and that includes Mark Kaboly, who's convinced a deal gets done.
On Wednesday, Kaboly took to social media to argue why the Steelers are more likely than not to extend Watt long-term:
“Why do the Steelers feel like a T.J. Watt deal will happen?
When the Steelers identify a player they WANT to keep, they keep. Off top of my head, the extensions that got done before the final year to significant players: Maurkice Pouncey, Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Heyward, Cam Heyward, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Diontae Johnson, Pat Freiermuth, Chris Boswell, Antonio Brown, Ramon Foster, Troy Polamalu, Hines Ward, and Heath Miller.
Mike Wallace and Le’Veon Bell were outliers.”
Kaboly hit the nail right on the head.
While Watt is likely on the tail end of his career, he is the heart and soul of the Steelers defense — and it seems like it's only a matter of when, not if, the future Hall of Fame defender signs a new extension with Pittsburgh.
