Michigan State football falls out of the running for 3-star New Jersey cornerback

Michigan State football has been on the hunt, pursuing a cornerback from Oradell (NJ) Bergen Catholic in Xavier Jackson. The 3-star cornerback has been a top priority for the Spartans, with a commitment date on the horizon.
Unfortunately for MSU, the pursuit of Jackson is off of the table, and now the team is going to be forced in going into a new direction.
Jackson has announced that he has canceled his official visit to East Lansing for this weekend, and instead, he will be visiting North Carolina. This comes on the heels of official visits to Minnesota and Pittsburgh.
This puts MSU in sort of a particular spot, not having a cornerback due to visit over the next two weekends, meaning that the Spartans will most likely identify new prospects in the coming day.
Instead of going to to Michigan State this weekend I will be taking a official visit to the University of North Carolina! #GoTarheels🐏 #OfficialVisit@KinslerLatish@adamgorney@RivalsRichie@SWiltfong_@ChadSimmons_@BrianDohn247@TomLoy247pic.twitter.com/l8XLuYeAP6— Xavier Jackson (@XavierJackson__) June 11, 2025
