Phillies' Rob Thomson Praised Brandon Marsh Amid Hot Stretch, 'He's Found His Swing' originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Starting off the 2025 season on a poor note, Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Brandon Marsh looked like a player destined to be traded or sent down to the Minor Leagues. Things didn't get any better for Marsh as he went onto the injured list, and Johan Rojas played well in his absence.

However, once he came back from the injured list on May 5th, things turned around for Marsh. After the Toronto Blue Jays game on Saturday, June 14, Phillies manager Rob Thomson shared his thoughts on Marsh and how his return from the injured list has fared.

According to a postgame press conference shared by Luke Arcaini of Crossing Broad on Twitter/X, Thomson commented on Marsh's hot stretch.

"I think he's found his swing," Thomson said. "He's found his timing. He's using the entire field, and that's what he's gotta do. He's really having good at-bats right now... Those guys at the bottom (of the lineup) are huge."

The Phillies, with their struggles in late May and early June hopefully behind them, have won four of their last five games. Those wins included two against the Chicago Cubs and two against the Blue Jays. Marsh has played a role in those two series.

Marsh, who started off the year as one of the worst hitters in baseball, has made a huge comeback and is hitting the ball well. Returning in early May, Marsh is batting .338 with an .876 OPS.

Across 80 at-bats, Marsh has 27 hits, 13 runs scored, seven doubles, one home run, 10 RBIs, and 11 walks to 21 strikeopson'ut,s. Since returning from the injured list, Marsh has been one of the best hitters on the Phillies.

Thompson's comments, praising Marsh as "he's found his swing," are a great sign for the Phillies' 27-year-old outfielder. With questions mounting over his future with the team, having Thomson support Marsh like he has is a sign that he has stability in the lineup, and trust in Marsh.
