Randy Moss, 48, Makes Major Career Decision After Cancer Diagnosis originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

In what was a concerning situation toward the end of this past NFL season, legendary wide receiver Randy Moss was forced to step away from his role with ESPN due to a cancer diagnosis.

As confirmed in a report by The Athletic's Andrew Marchand, Moss spent six days in the hospital after undergoing surgery to treat cancer found in the bile duct between his pancreas and liver.

The 48-year-old, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018, missed the last two months of the NFL season as a result of this, but on Tuesday, it was revealed by Marchand that he'll be making a return.

"After being forced to miss the final two months of last year due to a cancer diagnosis, ESPN expects Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss to return to a full-time role on 'Sunday NFL Countdown,' the network confirmed to The Athletic," wrote Marchand.

This means Moss will be rejoining the electric "Sunday Night Countdown" crew, which includes names such as Mike Greenberg, former NFL head coach Rex Ryan, former NFL quarterback Alex Smith and insider Adam Schefter.

As confirmed by Marchand, this will be Moss's 10th season with ESPN.

Moss brings a unique insight to the team as one of the best receivers to ever play in the NFL. During his career, he was named to four first-team All-Pro selections and six Pro Bowls, and he led the NFL in receiving touchdowns in five different seasons.

He finished his career with 983 catches for over 15,000 yards and 157 touchdowns.

With his return to ESPN, fans will once again hear his excellent analysis and see his tremendous personality shine through.
