Although the Minnesota Twins were able to get back into playoff contention in the American League last month, June has not been a friend to the team.

The Twins currently hold the longest win streak in the MLB this season, winning 13 straight games at the beginning of May. It helped Minnesota get back above .500 and helped them emerge as a playoff contender just over a quarter of the way into the 2025 season.

However, June hasn't been friendly to manager Rocco Baldelli and the Twins, as they carry a 6-15 record this month and have lost 10 of their last 11 games.

Injuries to the Twins' lineup and starting pitching rotation have been a key piece to their recent struggles. Players like Royce Lewis (hamstring), Pablo Lopez (shoulder), and Zebby Matthews (shoulder) have all found their way to the injured list this month.

With the MLB's trade deadline still over a month away, Twins' president of baseball operations, Derek Falvey, shut down any thoughts of possibly making big moves to perhaps flip their season back around.

“If we have to cross that bridge, we’ll cross that bridge later, but that is not at all our focus right now. It’s to figure out how to get this team right back to where it needs to be. I think a good week of baseball will get us there," Falvey told reporters.

Another option could be to pivot away from manager Rocco Baldelli, but it looks like the Twins won't be making that move either.

"Though the timing of the Twins’ decision is unclear, multiple sources confirmed the club picked up its team option for 2026 on Baldelli, who’s currently in his seventh season as manager," The Athletic's Dan Hayes wrote on Monday night.

It seems that the Twins are committed to the team they have right now, despite losing the momentum they had last month and currently sitting four games below .500.
