Vote for Louisville-area high school of year (girls programs) before polls close
There were plenty of standout performances from Louisville-area athletes during the 2024-25 prep sports season.
Voting is underway for The Courier Journal's high school of the year (girls programs). The poll closes at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, and the winner will be announced Wednesday, June 25.

Here are the nominees:
Assumption
Assumption softball won its first KHSAA Clark’s Pump-N-Shop State Championship last week. The Rockets also recorded state titles in cross-country, Class 3A Outdoor Track and Field State Championship, field hockey and volleyball (24th state championship).
Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart won its fifth consecutive state basketball championship. The Valkyries also captured their 13th consecutive swimming title and second straight golf championship. Sacred Heart finished as runner-up in field hockey.
Kentucky Country Day
The Kentucky Country Day lacrosse team won the inaugural KHSAA state championship.
Bullitt East
Bullitt East softball won the Sixth Region championship and made it to the state tournament for the first time in 13 years. The Chargers also won the regional soccer championship.
Mercy
Mercy won the Sixth Region basketball championship and finished as runner-up in the KHSAA volleyball state championship.
