Who is the Taunton Daily Gazette H.S. Girls Athlete of the Week for June 2-8?

The second week of the spring high school sports postseason has come and gone in the Greater Taunton area.
Last week, defending softball champions Taunton and Dighton-Rehoboth kept their title defense alive, with the Tigers taking down No. 33 Belmont, No. 17 Weymouth and No. 8 Bridgewater-Raynham in Division 1 while the Falcons defeated No. 32 Essex North Shore, No. 16 Medway and No. 8 Gloucester in Division 3. The Trojans earned an impressive win against No. 9 Central Catholic before bowing out to No. 1 Taunton in a close contest while both Taunton and Bridgewater-Raynham track and field had top 5 finishers at the MIAA Meet of Champions.
The Taunton Daily Gazette High School Girls Athlete of the Week for May 26-June 1 is Bridgewater-Raynham softball’s Avery Erlichman, receiving 75% of the vote. Taunton track and field’s Max Cassinelli came in second with 23% while Bridgewater-Raynham track and field’s Camden Strandberg received 1% to finish third.

Larson went all 7 innings giving up a hit and a walk while striking out 18 against Weymouth.
Madi DeLano, Bridgewater-Raynham
DeLano went all 7 innings giving up a run on 7 hits and a pair of walks while striking out 12 and went 2-for-2 at the plate against Central Catholic.
Edy Latour, Dighton-Rehoboth
Latour went all 5 innings giving up a run on a hit and a walk while striking out 7 and went 4-for-4 with 3 doubles and 3 RBIs against Medway.
Lacrosse
Karina Bosco, Dighton-Rehoboth
Bosco had 4 goals and 3 draws against Ursuline Academy.
Track and Field
Sophia Olaniyan, Taunton
Olaniyan finished 2nd overall in the discus (125 feet 4 inches) at the MIAA Meet of Champions.
Camden Strandberg, Bridgewater-Raynham
Strandberg finished 3rd overall in the high jump (5 feet 4 inches) at the MIAA Meet of Champions.
