3 UDFAs to watch at Bengals training camp

With the Cincinnati Bengals set to begin training camp next week, 90 players will begin their quest to make the 53-man roster heading into the regular season. While a good chunk of the roster is pretty set -- quarterback Joe Burrow is probably a safe bet to make the roster -- there are a few spots up for grabs and a few undrafted rookies looking to snag some of those spots.

Two undrafted rookies made the 53-man roster in 2025: defensive tackle Howard Cross III and long snapper William Wagner. Who could crack the roster this year? Here are a few names to watch in training camp.

Bengals undrafted free agents to watch at training camp

LB Jack Dingle

The Cincinnati product will have a chance to crack the Cincinnati roster as one of the reserve linebackers and carve out an early special-teams role as a rookie. The Bengals will likely either keep four or five linebackers and three of them should be Demetrius Knight, Barrett Carter and Oren Burks. The fourth (and possibly fifth) spot will be up for grabs for a player like Dingle, who brings a lot of athleticism to the table.

LB Eric Gentry

Dingle will have some competition from another undrafted rookie linebacker for a possible roster spot. Gentry, the former USC Trojan, brings a lot of size, standing 6-foot-7. That's quite tall for a linebacker, but he was productive over four years with the Trojans. He posted 271 tackles and 27 tackles for a loss for USC. Can his size handle the NFL game? He'll have a chance to answer that in camp and the preseason.

OT Christian Jones

The Bengals brought in a pair of undrafted rookies at the offensive tackle position, the other one being former Arkansas tackle Corey Robinson II. Jones played both guard and tackle at San Diego State and was given a $50,000 signing bonus (the highest among all the Bengals' undrafted free agents), signaling strong interest in the former Aztec. Jones is a big boy, measuring 6-foot-9 and almost 350 pounds. How he handles NFL competition with his size, similar to that of Gentry, will be interesting to follow in camp. At the very least, Jones should land on the Bengals' practice squad.
