AJ Dybantsa’s poster dunk is a must-see

AJ Dybantsa made his NBA Summer League debut on Thursday. He didn’t waste time impressing fans, attracting a lot of attention with a poster dunk in the first quarter.

The No. 1 pick in this year’s draft received the ball from beyond the arc. He blew past his defender and attacked the basket hard despite three other Jazz players in his way. Dybantsa threw down a vicious slam that fired up the crowd at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Many NBA fans looked forward to the game as it featured the Top 2 picks of 2026. Dybantsa faced Darryn Peterson and his Jazz squad, giving spectators a preview of what they’ll bring to their teams next season.

Dybantsa finished with a game-high 27 points, along with seven rebounds and two steals in the 92-88 win. He struggled from the field, converting just 7-of-18 shots. However, he made up for it by making 7-of-8 free throws and playing good defense. The BYU product was a +7 on the night.

Peterson, on the other hand, recorded 24 points, three rebounds and three assists, but committed eight turnovers.

Next up for Washington is matchup versus the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. Fans will be treated to a clash between Dybantsa and No. 7 pick Darius Acuff Jr.
