Alabama Legend Montana Fouts Continues Historic AUSL Season, Breaks Another League Record

Former Alabama ace Montana Fouts has never been one to settle after reaching the top. She built one of the most decorated careers in Crimson Tide softball history, and now she's doing the exact same thing at the professional level.

Just weeks after setting the AUSL's single-game strikeout record, Fouts has added yet another milestone to her growing list of accomplishments.

This past weekend, the former Crimson Tide superstar helped lead the Utah Talons to a 5-4 victory over the Carolina Blaze with another dominant performance in the circle. Entering in relief, Fouts threw two flawless innings, allowing no hits, no walks, and no runs while striking out one batter. It wasn't the flashiest outing of her season, but it may have been one of the most significant.

The victory gave Fouts her seventh win of the season, officially setting a new AUSL single-season record.

That's an incredible accomplishment considering we're still talking about a league filled with some of the best softball players in the world. Breaking one professional record in a season is impressive. Breaking multiple records within a matter of weeks speaks to just how dominant Fouts has been since stepping into the AUSL.

Through eight appearances, including six starts, Fouts owns a remarkable 7-1 record with a 1.83 ERA. She's struck out 42 hitters while issuing just eight walks, and opposing batters are hitting only .177 against her. Every time she takes the circle, she gives the Talons a chance to win, and that's exactly why Utah currently sits alone atop the AUSL standings with a 13-5 record.

For Alabama fans, none of this should come as a surprise.

Fouts spent her collegiate career rewriting record books in Tuscaloosa and cemented herself as one of the greatest pitchers ever to wear the Crimson Tide uniform.
