Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger was also spotted in the crowd, along with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson and his girlfriend Zara McDermott, and Tauheed Epps, the American Rapper known as 2 Chainz.
Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown shared a series of photos ahead of the game, including a selfie showing her in an England top and inside the stadium.
Peaky Blinders star Joe Cole also posted a photo and video from inside the stadium to his Instagram Stories.
And FIFA President Gianni Infantino was seen sitting with English Football Association President Debbie Hewitt.
The winner of Wednesday’s match will face Spain in the World Cup final set for 19 July at 8pm BST (3pm ET).

Thousands of Three Lions fans have descended upon the US city for the high-stakes clash against the defending champions. The air-conditioned Mercedes-Benz Stadium is hosting the encounter between the old rivals.
At home, supporters are flocking to bars and fan zones to watch the match – with pubs expecting to sell six million extra pints on Wednesday.
And celebrities are showing their support from home, too. Throughout the tournament, EastEnders star Ross Kemp has been vocal in his support for England and on Wednesday night, he posted a video on Instagram that he captioned “Go England”.
The 61-year-old is seen posing in a garden shirtless and holding an England jersey before kissing it three times, raising his fist and yelling out: “Come on England!”
Comedian and presenter Alan Carr also showed his support for the national team, posting a photo in a pub wearing an England T-shirt with his face painted with the St George’s Cross.
Holding up a beer in one hand, he also raised his middle finger while posing for the photo and putting on a tough face.
Sharing a video watching the game from home, Olly Murs also revealed he was celebrating his anniversary with his wife Amelia by watching the game and eating Pizza Hut.
He then posted a video singing the national anthem by his screen while shirtless and draped in a flag.
