Arizona Cardinals training camp roster preview: WR Michael Wilson
The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Here is wide receiver Michael Wilson.
Michael Wilson background, 2025 season
Wilson, drafted in the third round in 2023 by the Cardinals, enters his fourth NFL season and his fourth year with the team. He is coming off a career season. In 2025, he played in every game of the year for the first time in his career, and he had 78 receptions for 1,006 yards and seven touchdowns. He had three games of at least 10 catches and and at least 118 yards.
Michael Wilson contract details, cap hit
Wilson is eligible for a contract extension, and many believe he will get one before the season starts. As of now, because of a salary escalator for playing time, he will make $3.9 million in salary in the final year of his four-year rookie contract. His cap hit will be more than $4.1 million.
Roster outlook, questions he faces
There is no doubt about his place on the roster. He will make the final roster and will be a starter as the Cardinals' main 'Z' receiver.
But there are plenty of questions:
- Will he get a contract extension before the season?
- Can he produce at the same level he did last season when Marvin Harrison Jr. is in the game?
The 2026 season will be big for Wilson.
