Barcelona’s 2nd summer signing gets the ‘Here we Go’

La Liga champions Barcelona have on Friday closed an agreement for the club’s 2nd high-profile signing of the summer transfer window.

The latest player to have put pen to paper on terms in Catalunya’s capital? Karim Adeyemi.

Frontman Adeyemi’s name of course emerged as a leading one in the Spanish media headlines across the week to date. This came after word was forthcoming that the aforementioned Barcelona had set their sights firmly on the signature of the German international.

After quickly tying up a contract agreement with Adeyemi himself, the Camp Nou brass, in turn, set about finding a similar accord with their Dortmund counterparts.

Ahead of the expiration of the attacker’s terms at Signal Iduna Park in 12 months’ time, Deco and co. made clear that they were not willing to pay over the odds to bring Adeyemi in.

And as alluded to above, on Friday, the Blaugrana’s efforts have borne fruit.

As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Barcelona agree deal to sign Karim Adeyemi, HERE WE GO! Deal agreed club to club for €22m plus €7m add-ons based on title winning and also appearances. Adeyemi only wanted Barça and will sign a five-year deal in blaugrana.’
