Bart Scott is saying weird things about Joe Burrow, Bengals again

The Cincinnati Bengals often find themselves in the headlines with retired defender Bart Scott. 

Scott infamously went viral a few years ago for comments about Bengals wideout Tee Higgins. There was also the infamous “red dot” commentary that earned backlash. 

Fast forward to now, Scott is on television taking issue with the fact that Burrow continues to be ranked amongst the top five quarterbacks in the NFL. 

Scott targeted Burrow’s injury history during his commentary: "This isn't Madden. We don't get to just put them out there. Wear and tear is part of the game. Injuries. Durability. You can’t turn injuries off, it matters."

The problem is simple: Scott’s taking issue with an ESPN list that was formed after polling NFL executives, coaches and scouts. In other words, guys in the NFL who would know better than a television analyst. 

Burrow is pretty widely hailed as a top-five player at his position for very obvious reasons, even with his injury history. But he won’t win over onlookers like Scott until he shakes the attendance woes. Those in and around the league, though, know better.
