The Cincinnati Bengals start training camp on July 28.

Until then, the news cycle around the team has slowed to a halt. But the NFL-wide analysis that includes player rankings and projections has done nothing but speed up.

Here’s a quick rundown of the most notable Bengals-related things making the rounds right now.

Bengals news and analysis updates

Kris Jenkins trade idea

One outlet suggests the Bengals could trade Kris Jenkins. And at this point, with Dexter Lawrence, BJ Hill, TJ Slaton, Jonathan Allen and others on the depth chart, it might just be on the table this summer. There are only so many roster spots to go around, so Jenkins needs to make a leap.

Bengals' lack of urgency

The Bengals still haven’t made a notable move at linebacker despite it being one of the bigger pain points on the roster. They still believe in Demetrius Knight and Barrett Carter. But the lack of a quality veteran backup is a mistake they made last offseason, too.

Bryan Cook signing overlooked

The Bengals made a big splash with Bryan Cook in free agency. The hope is he finally ends the struggles after letting Jessie Bates walk years ago. But a poll that talks with NFL execs and coaches seems to overlook Cook for now.

Bengals announce Open in Orange

The Bengals’ tradition of Open in Orange has a spotty history so far, when it comes to in-game results. Alas, the Bengals just announced another weeklong celebration event that will wrap up with kickoff against Tampa Bay in Week 1.
