Braves select Jensen Hirschkorn with 84th Pick of 2026 MLB Draft

With the 84th pick in the 2026 MLB Draft the Atlanta Braves have selected overslot California prep right hander Jensen Hirschkorn. Hirschkorn is a first round talent who is going to take some time, but will be a significant add to the Braves system.

Fastball 60

Hirschkorn has a big plus fastball that’s been up to 96 MPH and a two seamer as well. When factoring in that he has a ton of projection remaining it is easy to project this pitch to be a plus pitch for him.

Slider 60

The slider is a nasty swing and miss pitch already and another plus grade for him.

Changeup 55

The change is a pitch which is already a weapon against lefties though will need to improve against right handed batters for him.

Command 55

Despite being 6’7 Hirschkorn already has very strong command, which is rare. It’s a chance to continue to develop and get to above average at maturity for him.

Overall Thoughts

This is a super projectable first round talent who has really shown up in showcases. I am sure this is an overslot pick, but one that will be an impact arm for the Braves. He’s already fairly advanced for being a prep arm, but will need to continue his development and adding on strength to his frame, so he isn’t likely to move super fast.
