Charles Barkley provides an update on his feud with Michael Jordan

NBA legends Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley were once close friends but went nearly 15 years without speaking.

Their relationship started to go south in 2012 when Barkley criticized the job Jordan was doing running the Charlotte Bobcats, who are now the Charlotte Hornets.

Barkley provided an update on his relationship with Jordan during a recent episode of Pardon My Take.

According to Barkley, the two have made up and are doing well.

“One of my friends who is here, I was sitting at the house a couple of months ago and his name popped up. And I said, ‘What’s up mother [expletive].’ That’s the way we talk to each other. He said, ‘No mother [expletive] it’s MJ.’ And they were playing golf together,“ Barkley explained. ”And I said ‘Oh man, how you doing? I hope you’re doing great, blah blah blah blah.’

“And we were like, ‘Yo man, let’s let this bull [expletive] go. We were great friends, brothers for a long time, and both of us being selfish and stupid.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, we are, we’re both selfish and stupid, and stubborn more than anything.’”

Barkley added that Jordan asked him to come hang out and play golf with him at Jordan’s course once basketball season is over.

The two haven’t gotten together yet but are planning to soon.

“I said, ‘Man, I’d be honored to. I miss your friendship.’ And he said, ‘I miss your friendship.’ ... He’s out of the country right now. But as soon as we get a chance we’re going to get together,” Barkley said. “I’m going to go down to his golf course and play with him for a couple of days.

“I miss his friendship, too. I’m looking forward to reconnecting.”

Jordan, who is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time, played in the NBA from 1984 to 2003. He won six NBA championships and six NBA Finals MVP awards.

Barkley played in the NBA from 1984 to 2000. He is an 11-time All-Star and was named the NBA MVP in 1993.

The two used to play golf regularly when they were close friends, at least until Barkley began struggling on the course.

“He quit playing with me when I had the yips. So we haven’t played together (recently),” Barkley said. “He’s a better golfer than me, but I’m really looking forward to putting my game up against him.

“Now I don’t have the yips anymore, I’m looking forward to playing with him, because I think I can compete.”
