Mohamed Salah left Liverpool officially when his contract expired at the end of June.

The Egyptian King - who was knocked out of the FIFA World Cup by Lionel Messi and Argentina last week - is now one of the biggest free agents in the game.

No shortage of teams have been linked with making a move for the 34-year-old - who has been voted the fourth-best player in Liverpool’s club history.

Salah was making £400k per week at Anfield before deciding to rip up his contract a year early and it is going to take a significant financial package to convince him to sign elsewhere.

It's either SPL or MLS for Salah

According to a report in TEAMtalk Salah has narrowed his options down to just two locations - either Saudi Arabia or the United States.

Teams in the Saudi Pro League have been linked with Salah for several years now - stretching back to 2023 when Al-Ittihad expressed their interest.

Others such as Al-Ahli have manoeuvred into view after offloading Riyad Mahrez’s gargantuan salary package.

And in MLS teams such as Inter Miami, Sporting KC and San Diego FC have all been associated with a move for the two-time African footballer of the year.

Saudi - Salah deal has already been agreed

“The Liverpool legend has now narrowed his options to either the Saudi Pro League or Major League Soccer, despite interest from European sides,” the report reads.

“The Saudi Pro League has spent years planning for Salah’s arrival, viewing him as the ideal figurehead to further strengthen the league’s global profile.”

The report adds that a deal has already been agreed between Salah and the Saudi Pro League and all that remains is to decide which team he will join.

“A deal in principle is already in place with the league, although Salah has yet to determine which club he would join,” the report reads.

European clubs STILL want Salah

It promises to be a race between Jeddah-based Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli while Neom FC could also come into the equation.

European interest has been expressed by Roma and Juventus in Serie A while Turkey’s top two sides in Galatasaray and Fenerbahce also retain an interest.

Salah’s decision will be made soon with the player currently on his end-of-season break following the Pharaohs' elimination from the World Cup.

But we won’t have to wait much longer to find out Salah’s next destination.
