The Los Angeles Dodgers would much prefer for Mookie Betts to play every inning of every game.

But on Saturday, Betts left the game, and now L.A. is waiting and hoping for the best after the Betts injury.

Betts raced home to score on a hit during Saturday's action against the Nationals, but that's when he then exited the game.

The Dodgers announced at the time that it was "right low back pain" for Betts.

Betts previously had a back issue in 2021, but nothing of that kind more recently.

After the Dodgers' win was complete, manager Dave Roberts had the chance to share a bit more about Betts.

The Dodgers plan to have Betts undergo an MRI on Saturday night, Roberts told reporters.

Roberts also termed the injury "more moderate than significant."

The manager concluded by saying that Betts will be out for at least a couple of days.

Betts is the Dodgers' everyday shortstop. Without him, the World Series hero Miguel Rojas likely slots into shortstop for the time being.

It's not ideal, but back injuries can be tricky, and the Dodgers will definitely want to be careful with this one. It's much preferred for Betts to be hurt in April rather than October.
